The emotions you run away from are the ones you can never escape.

Our emotions are such a beautiful gift and define our human experience. Love, pride, joy, sadness, disappointment, fear - they all have a purpose.


The positive emotions lift us up and although the not so positive emotions are usually there to protect us (such as fear) however some are also beacons for us to dig deeper.

A very conventional human response is to avoid the negative emotions by distracting ourselves with more positive thoughts but in doing so, we rob ourselves of the gift of potential insight ( and ultimately, true freedom).


Negative emotions like fear, disappointment and anxiety tell us we have unresolved issues that are triggering these reactions for us. Until we free ourselves from these emotions, we will forever be at their mercy.


You experience emotions. Your emotions do not define you. Who you are is defined by what you do next..


The only way you can reduce negative emotions is to be with them, giving yourself the space to truly understand the source of this discomfort/pain so you can find your way around them.


It won't be easy but things worth doing hardly ever are..


Build the habit of leaning into the emotions that make you uncomfortable instead of running away from them. The only way to get away from these emotions is to go through them...
